PZL-Świdnik to assemble Pilatus’ fuselages

The contract was signed by Mr. Oscar J. Schwenk, Chairman and CEO of Pilatus Aircraft Ltd., and Mr. Nicola Bianco, Managing Director of PZL-Świdnik on  March 29th  2010 at PZL-Świdnik headquarters.

The contract provides for a 10 years production co-operation, with the potential for further extension and development. The first fuselage is scheduled to be delivered to the recipient in September 2011. PZL-Świdnik aims at assembling 50 fuselages per year. Full production capacity is expected to be achieved after 4 years from the beginning of production. Approximately PZL-Świdnik 120 employees  will work at the assembly of PC-12 aircraft fuselages.

As emphasized by the representatives of Pilatus Aircraft Ltd., PZL-Świdnik’s offer was chosen following an in-depth and detailed assessment of its capabilities compared to other potential suppliers. , Pilatus is convinced that PZL-Świdnik, thanks to its long experience and proper certifications in the aviation industry will meet the highest standards of quality production for PC-12 aircraft fuselages.

Mr. Mieczysław Majewski, President of the Board and Mr. Nicola Bianco, Managing Director of PZL-Świdnik underlined that Company’s experience, acquired during 55 years ofPZL-Świdnik-designing and producing helicopters , and manufacturing aircraft structures ordered by other manufacturers, especially through the co-operation with AgustaWestland started in 1996, provides clear evidence of excellent performance and capability to meet production as well as partners’ requirements.

The Pilatus PC-12 is a single-engine turboprop aircraft, designed for transport of persons and cargo, providing seating for up to 9 passengers in the standard version. It has been produced since 1994.
